Abstract

The article presents a comparative analysis of the formation of national and cultural identity in the programming strategies of the Russian TV channel “Russia-Kultura” and the Uzbek channel “Madaniyat va ma’rifat.” Based on theoretical approaches to the concept of identity and content analysis of programming grids and key broadcasts, the authors identify common and distinctive features in the strategies of the two channels. The study shows that, despite their shared educational mission, the channels construct identity through different cultural codes, historical narratives, and visual strategies, reflecting the specifics of the state cultural policies of Russia and Uzbekistan.
