Abstract

A retrospective study of 37 cases of pregnancy-associated acute biliary pancreatitis (OBP) over a seven-year period was conducted. The aim of the work was to analyze the diagnosis and treatment of this condition. It was found that the majority of patients (51%) were in the early postpartum period (up to 6 weeks). The main etiological factor is cholelithiasis. In 56% of cases, the disease was mild. Management tactics varied depending on the trimester: conservative therapy with delayed elective cholecystectomy (LCE) was used in the first trimester and in the second trimester.; In the second trimester, LCE was performed; in the third trimester, conservative treatment or endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with papillosphincterotomy (EPST) followed by LCE after childbirth. In the postpartum period, LHE was performed in the majority of patients (75-78.5%). Recurrence of pancreatitis was noted in 10% of cases. No maternal and perinatal deaths were registered. It was concluded that OBP in pregnant women is more often mild, and for a favorable outcome, multidisciplinary tactics with elective cholecystectomy are necessary to prevent relapses.
