Abstract

In the modern era, where factual knowledge is available digitally anytime and anywhere, higher education must expand its scope to support the development of personal skills and competencies [1]. The educational project “(Natural) Science, Technology and Medicine – USMLE” is closely connected with contemporary scientific research at the intersection of natural sciences, technology, and medicine. Experts from the faculties of natural sciences and medicine actively participate in various teaching formats open to students of different majors [1]. Students collectively embrace the concept of interdisciplinary collaboration, discuss from their individual perspectives, learn from each other, and share their knowledge. Within the context of research activities, students gain an understanding of the scientific process and the principles of using modern (digital) tools, develop relevant skills, and have the opportunity to engage directly in scientific work [2].
