Abstract
The study of complex compounds of medicinal substances with metal ions is one of the most promising areas of modern bioorganics and pharmaceutical chemistry. Such compounds are capable of changing the physico-chemical and pharmacological properties of starting preparations, increasing their resistance to hydrolysis and expanding the range of biological activity. The mechanisms of their formation, physico-chemical characteristics, biological activity and possible areas of practical application are considered.
