UNDERESTIMATED NEUROENDOCRINE COMPLICATIONS OF CHRONIC TETRAVENTRICULAR HYDROCEPHALUS: A CASE REPORT

Abstract
Chronic hydrocephalus is traditionally regarded primarily as a neurosurgical condition. However, prolonged dilation of the ventricular system may be accompanied by damage to the hypothalamic–pituitary region, leading to secondary endocrine disorders. Delayed physical and pubertal development in these patients is often underrecognized and may be attributed to constitutional variation for an extended period. The presented case highlights the importance of timely endocrine evaluation in patients with chronic hydrocephalus.
