Abstract
Iatrogenic lesions of peripheral nerves that occur during medical procedures are a significant issue in modern clinical practice. Post-injection neuropathy of the sciatic nerve, the most common type, is characterized by severe pain, motor dysfunction, and a prolonged recovery period. This study aimed to analyze cases of iatrogenic sciatic neuropathy identified in outpatients. The study involved 14 patients, who underwent a thorough clinical and instrumental examination, including neurological assessment, ultrasound diagnostics, and ENMG (electroneurography). A significant male predominance (79%) was observed, with a predominant left-sided lesion (71%). The leading symptoms were pain and motor deficits of varying severity. These findings emphasize the importance of preventing post-injection complications and early diagnosis for improved treatment outcomes.
