Abstract
This article analyses the content, methodology and significance of internationally recognised educational assessment frameworks such as the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study (TIMSS) and Progress in International Reading Literacy Study (PIRLS). It highlights the role these international assessments play in measuring students' functional literacy, mathematical and scientific competence, as well as reading comprehension skills. Additionally, the article explores opportunities to adapt these models to Uzbekistan's education system, improve national curricula, update pedagogical approaches and enhance overall educational quality. Based on the research findings, practical recommendations are proposed for integrating international assessment criteria into national educational standards, developing teachers' professional competencies and improving Uzbekistan's students' performance in international rankings.
